ABOUT CASTLINE

Useful information. Honest limits.

Castline helps Wisconsin anglers choose a water, check conditions and keep a private record of their fishing trips.

Where the information comes from

Lake pages link to Wisconsin DNR profiles and show when their fish lists were checked. A listed species is not a guarantee of a catch; a broad group such as panfish does not identify individual species. Public access resources are linked separately because a lake coordinate does not establish a public entrance.

How forecasts work

The dashboard uses weather forecasts and a rules-based activity index. Scores are not catch probabilities and have not been scientifically calibrated. Nearby waters may share an area forecast. Temperature estimates and sensor readings are labeled separately, with unavailable data left unavailable.

Who writes the guides

Castline's regional guides organize sourced lake information into practical trip-planning steps. They are not on-water fishing reports or independently field-reviewed recommendations. Source review dates refer to checking the linked information, not a new fisheries survey.

Your fishing history belongs to you

Google sign-in protects your saved waters and journal. Public sharing links contain a water's public identity, not your private catches, photos or precise fishing spots. Your catches do not currently train the forecast.
